8mm2avi - a program to convert 8mm films to AVI
8mm2avi is a program for MS-Windows
How valuable is your family heritage, stored in regular 8mm and Super8 films (see Regular 8 and Super 8 mm specifications for the difference between the 2 formats), that risks to be lost because your projector lamp is burned?
Would you like to convert it into AVI files, and to have them on CD ROMS, easily accessible from your laptop? Perhaps you already tried to pay some photo studio for converting the films to VHS, and you are not satisfied… And you don’t want to send your film to some Telecine Service (they have big machines that use a projector pointing at a video camera) and spend several hundreds dollars?
8mm2avi has been developed as a tool to acquire and convert Regular8 mm and Super8 mm films to AVI format. AVI stands for Audio Video Interleave. AVI is defined by Microsoft and is the most common format for audio/video data on the PC.
